[edit] Wii Update FAQ
[edit] If I reformat my Wii does it get the the firmware it was packaged with?
- Not always! (confirmed, but exact details unknown.)
"There is a confirmation from someone, however I have formatted my US Wii and have not been taken back to the original firmware, this may not be the same for non-US Wiisl however, I'd assume it is." --Johnman239 21:32, 25 January 2007 (EST)
Anti-Confirmation: NTSC-U console with version 3.1U was formatted and after restart remained at version 3.1U --Cheshirekow 15:55, 12 December 2007 (EST)
[edit] If I reformatted it and returned to the original version would each update be applied individually?
- Yes, This is also the case if you buy a new wii that hasn't up-to-date firmware.
- I have evidence to the contrary. I got both access to the forecast channel, and access to download the Internet channel in one update, which this page lists as two. Nintendo might be making bundle updates.
- Access to download the Internet Channel was an update to the Wii Store, not to the Wii itself. So you updated the Wii to get the Forecast channel but nothing changed for you to be able to download the Internet Channel from the store.
